Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care across various settings, including long-term care, assisted living, hospitals, and outpatient clinics. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where your skills in patient care, medical documentation, and health monitoring are essential to improving patient outcomes. Experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks is highly valued. The CNA will work closely with interdisciplinary teams to deliver compassionate care tailored to each patient's needs.
Duties
- Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the unit and shift.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance using equipment like Hoyer lifts.
- Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature accurately within medical records systems.
- Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to HIPAA regulations.
- Provide specialized care for patients with dementia, Alzheimer's, memory impairments, or behavioral health needs.
- Assist with catheter care, wound care, and aseptic techniques to prevent infection and promote healing.
- Support patients in post-acute care settings such as skilled nursing facilities or home & community care environments.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams in acute care settings like ICU, emergency medicine, or Level I Trauma Centers to deliver timely patient services.
- Maintain compliance with all safety protocols including basic life support (BLS), infection control procedures, and HIPAA regulations.
- Document patient interactions thoroughly using EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical records management.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families about health conditions and treatments.

Requirements
Qualifications
- Valid CNA certification required; prior experience in long-term care, hospital medicine, ICU, or emergency medicine preferred.
- Experience working with diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, behavioral health patients, or individuals with disabilities is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy & physiology, and medical documentation standards is essential.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner is preferred; familiarity with home & community care systems is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments such as trauma centers or urgent care clinics.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work compassionately with patients experiencing complex health issues like infectious disease or post-operative recovery.
- Physical ability to perform caregiving tasks including lifting (Hoyer lift), standing for extended periods, and assisting with mobility needs.
