Help shape a specialist speech pathology service within an innovative multidisciplinary brain health clinic.
The Healthy Brain & Memory Centre is seeking a passionate and forward-thinking Speech Pathologist to join our growing multidisciplinary team in Southport.
We are a private clinic specialising in neurodegenerative conditions, cognitive health, and healthy ageing. Our team includes two geriatricians, a clinical neuropsychologist, psychologist, GP, physiotherapist, dietitian, and experienced nurses, working collaboratively to provide comprehensive care to patients and their families.
We were also the second clinic in Australia to establish an anti-amyloid therapy service for early Alzheimer’s disease, placing us at the forefront of an exciting and rapidly evolving area of dementia care.
The Opportunity
This is a unique opportunity to develop a specialised caseload supporting people with neurodegenerative conditions, including:
Alzheimer’s disease and other neurocognitive disorders
Primary Progressive Aphasia (PPA)
Parkinson’s disease and atypical Parkinsonian syndromes
Cognitive-communication disorders
Motor speech and swallowing difficulties
Some of our patients present with logopenic variant PPA associated with Alzheimer’s disease, creating an important opportunity for skilled speech pathology assessment, intervention, and ongoing support.
You’ll work not only with patients, but also their families, carers, aged care teams, and support networks to help maintain communication, independence, and quality of life.
Importantly, this isn’t simply about stepping into an existing service. We’re looking for someone who would be excited to help shape and develop our speech pathology and cognitive-communication program, working closely with our broader clinical team.
You’ll also have the opportunity to participate in our weekly multidisciplinary neuroimaging and case discussions, providing valuable insight into diagnosis and disease progression.
