Department of Neurology seeking Assistant Professor-Professor, Tenure Track
Description
The Department of Neurology at the University of Utah is undergoing a major expansion of its research efforts ranging from molecular and cellular neuroscience to population health.
We are recruiting several physician-scientists in the areas of Alzheimer disease and related disorders, ALS, neuroimmunology, vascular neurology, TBI, and systems neuroscience. We are looking for candidates at the Assistant or Associate Professor level with a proven track-record of obtaining extramural funding. When appropriate, research positions can be combined with clinical leadership positions, for example with Directorship of our ALS Center of Excellence.
Minimum Qualifications are a MD, DO or MD/PhD degree and ABPN board eligibility.
Candidates will be able to partner with existing initiatives in Molecular Medicine, 3i (Immunity, infection, inflammation), genomics, translational neuroscience and the Integrating Medicine & Policy to Achieve Healthcare Transformation (IMPACT) program.

Strong basic and clinical translational research is present in the Department of Neurology. The Department is as investigative site for both NeuroNext and StrokeNet. We have established collaborations with the College of Pharmacy, Departments of Bioengineering, Biochemistry, Neurobiology, and the Clinical Translational Science Institute.
Extensive mentoring programs exist for junior faculty for wet and dry bench research within the department, the Health Sciences and the university at large.
