Work Environment
This role is designed to be fully remote, providing flexibility to conduct sessions from a home office or any suitable location. The work schedule is based in a standard weekday framework, Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, although occasional evening shifts may be necessary to accommodate patient needs. This remote setting promotes a modern and adaptable work-life balance while maintaining a high level of professionalism and dedication to patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments tailored to the needs and circumstances of older adults, considering cognitive changes and life transitions.
- Develop, implement, and monitor personalized treatment plans designed to address the mental health challenges faced by geriatric patients.
- Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and family therapy, to effectively engage with patients and their families.
- Work collaboratively with a team of geriatric psychiatrists and healthcare professionals to create integrated care strategies for our patients.
- Provide crisis intervention and support, including immediate assistance during mental health emergencies involving elderly clients.
- Educate patients and their families about various mental health conditions and available treatment options, helping them navigate community resources.
- Document all patient interactions accurately and maintain confidentiality in compliance with ethical standards and legal requirements.
- Actively participate in team meetings, case consultations, and ongoing professional development initiatives to enhance your expertise and contribute to team learning.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Your primary focus will be on the geriatric population. You will be addressing various issues such as age-related mental health disorders, chronic illness stressors, and transitions in life that often impact older adults. Your role is vital in understanding and addressing the unique psychotherapeutic needs of these individuals, allowing them to achieve optimal mental well-being and improving their overall quality of life.
Qualifications
- A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
- A current and valid professional licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Arizona.
- A minimum of two years of post-licensure clinical experience providing mental health therapy is preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of geriatric mental health conditions and best practices in treatment modalities.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport and trust with elderly patients and their families.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems and familiarity with various clinical documentation applications.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team focused on collaborative patient care.
Preferred Experience
- Experience delivering both individual and family therapy, specifically designed for older adults facing complex mental health conditions.
- Knowledge of geriatric psychiatry trends, therapeutic interventions, and community resources conducive to elder care.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development, evidenced by participation in relevant training or continuing education.
Compensation and Benefits
This position offers an attractive salary range of $75,000 to $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
