Work Environment
This full-time position is based in our Corvallis outpatient clinic, where you will work with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals including physical therapists, nurses, and speech therapists. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, mental, and emotional capabilities to develop tailored treatment plans for each individual.
- Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions aimed at improving activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs) like dressing, bathing, cooking, and moving safely.
- Facilitate therapeutic exercises and modalities, utilizing tools such as adaptive equipment or assistive devices to enhance patient functionality.
- Identify and address various mobility challenges, memory care needs, and conditions such as arthritis and post-stroke recovery to facilitate improved patient outcomes.
- Provide education to residents, their families, and allied healthcare staff on promoting functional independence and integrating therapies into daily routines.
- Maintain meticulous documentation that adheres to Medicare and state regulations, ensuring compliance and facilitating integrated care efforts.
Patient Population / Client Focus
In this role, you will primarily serve the senior population, interacting with residents of assisted living facilities and outpatient clients seeking to regain independence following illness, injury, or degenerative conditions. Your expertise will be vital in helping them achieve personal goals, whether it's returning to cherished hobbies or becoming more self-sufficient in their daily lives.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- An active Occupational Therapy license in Oregon, or eligibility for licensure.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a related setting, particularly in geriatrics or outpatient therapy.
- Exceptional communication skills and a genuine commitment to the well-being of older adults.
- A proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving and innovative thinking in therapy.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working in assisted living facilities, skilled nursing facilities, or home health settings.
- Familiarity with treatment approaches for conditions frequently encountered in the elderly, such as dementia, pain management, and mobility issues.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team and contribute to shared goals.
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive salary range of $60,000 to $65,000, based on experience and performance.
