The Medway Therapy Clinic is seeking a dedicated and fully licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our specialized team in Austin, Texas. This full-time role is designed for licensed clinicians who are passionate about improving the mental health and quality of life for elderly patients. As a therapist, you will engage in meaningful therapy sessions while working remotely and collaborating with a diverse team focused on geriatric mental health issues.

Work Environment
This remote role allows you to operate from the comfort of your home while connecting with our outpatient office for team collaboration and patient care. Our operating hours are Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts required to meet patient needs. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments that cater to the specific needs of older adults, identifying their cognitive, emotional, and physical health needs.
- Design and execute personalized treatment plans, integrating therapeutic modalities suitable for geriatric patients experiencing various psychiatric conditions.
- Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, facilitating both individual and family therapy sessions to provide comprehensive support.
- Collaborate with geriatric psychiatrists and multi-disciplinary team members to ensure an integrative treatment approach that considers all aspects of the patient's well-being.
- Deliver crisis intervention services when necessary to provide immediate support during mental health emergencies with elderly patients.
- Educate patients and their families on mental health issues, treatment methods, and community resources available to them.
- Maintain meticulous documentation of patient interactions and treatment outcomes, ensuring compliance with ethical and legal standards.
- Engage actively in team meetings and case consultations to share insights and discuss best practices in geriatric mental health care.
- Stay current on research advancements and best practices in geriatric psychiatry to enhance service delivery.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Our primary focus is on providing compassionate care to the elderly community. You will work closely with individuals grappling with a range of mental health issues, from mild anxiety and depression to more severe conditions like dementia-related disorders. Your role is crucial in fostering a safe space for these patients, where they can express their concerns and receive the support needed to navigate their challenges.
Qualifications
- A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
- Possession of a current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Texas is essential.
- A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience working specifically with geriatric clients is strongly preferred.
- Expertise in geriatric mental health disorders and familiarity with evidence-based treatment strategies.
- Demonstrated experience in providing therapeutic services to older adults and their families.
- Exemplary interpersonal skills with the ability to engage empathetically with patients and their caregivers.
- Capability to establish rapport quickly, building trust with elderly clients and their families.
- In-depth knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems and proficiency in computer applications relevant to therapy practice.
- A collaborative mindset enabling effective teamwork within a multidisciplinary environment.
Preferred Experience
In addition to mandatory qualifications, candidates with experience in specialized treatment modalities for dementia, anxiety interventions, or geriatric-focused family therapy will stand out. A background in crisis intervention and understanding of the social determinants of health affecting the elderly would be beneficial.
Compensation and Benefits
This position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 75,000 to USD 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
