Dynamic Therapeutic Clinic is seeking a skilled and compassionate Geriatric Mental Health Therapist, licensed as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW, to join our dedicated mental health team. Work Environment
This position is fully remote, providing the flexibility to work from home while still maintaining a strong connection with our mental health team and patients through telehealth technology. You will have the tools necessary to deliver comprehensive therapy while managing your own schedule. The clinic operates Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts based on patient needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly patients, identifying their unique needs, cognitive changes, and environmental factors that influence their mental health.
- Develop individualized treatment plans that integrate therapeutic strategies addressing both mental and physical health concerns.
- Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions including individual sessions, family therapy, and psychoeducation to support patients and their caregivers.
- Collaborate closely with geriatric psychiatrists and a multidisciplinary team of health professionals to create a holistic care plan.
- Engage in crisis intervention and provide immediate support during mental health emergencies affecting elderly clients.
- Educate patients and families about various mental health conditions, available treatment options, and local community resources, empowering them to make informed decisions.
- Ensure all patient documentation is accurate, confidential, and compliant with legal and ethical standards.
- Participate actively in team meetings, case consultations, and professional development activities to continuously enhance your skills and knowledge.
- Stay updated on current research, best practices, and innovations in geriatric psychiatry, integrating new insights into therapy approaches.
Patient Population / Client Focus
This role primarily focuses on the geriatric population, allowing you to engage with elderly individuals navigating a range of mental health challenges. You'll develop meaningful relationships with patients and their families, helping them confront the complexities of aging, loss, and mental health issues. Your work will directly enhance their quality of life, supporting their journey toward improved mental well-being.
Qualifications
- A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
- Active and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Oregon.
- A minimum of two years of post-licensure clinical experience is preferred, particularly in a geriatric setting.
- Strong familiarity with geriatric mental health disorders and effective treatment modalities related to this population.
- Excellent communication skills and a patient-centered approach to care, demonstrating empathy and compassion in all interactions.
- Experience in both individual and family therapy with older adults is essential.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and comfort with telehealth technology.
- Ability to work collaboratively, contributing both independently and as part of a team dedicated to patient care.
Preferred Experience
- At least two years of experience practicing as a therapist with a focus on geriatric clients.
- Demonstrated success in creating and implementing comprehensive treatment interventions tailored to elderly patients.
- Familiarity with community resources and support systems available for the geriatric population.
Compensation and Benefits
The compensation for this position ranges from $75,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
