Work Environment
This role will be primarily remote, allowing you to connect with clients from the comfort of your home while still actively participating in team meetings through videoconferencing platforms. You will benefit from a culture that emphasizes teamwork, continuous learning, and open communication. Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts as necessary based on patient needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments, assessing both psychological and physical factors affecting the elderly population.
- Design and implement customized treatment plans that address the unique challenges faced by older adults, including cognitive changes and social dynamics.
- Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques, offering both individual and family therapy tailored to the needs of your clients.
- Collaborate closely with geriatric psychiatrists and interdisciplinary team members to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
- Provide crisis intervention services, offering support to elderly patients during mental health emergencies, and develop safety plans as needed.
- Offer education to patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and local resources for additional support.
- Maintain meticulous and confidential records in accordance with healthcare regulations and ethical practices.
- Contribute actively to case discussions and participate in ongoing professional development activities.
- Stay updated on the latest research and best practices in geriatric mental health to enhance service delivery.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Your primary focus will be on the geriatric population who experience a range of mental health issues that require specialized treatment. You'll work with elderly clients dealing with conditions such as depression, anxiety, dementia, and adjustment disorders. This position requires an understanding of the complexity of mental health challenges faced by older adults, along with a compassionate approach to therapy that fosters trust and rapport.
Qualifications
- A Master's or Doctoral Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
- Current valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Arizona.
- A minimum of two years of experience post-licensure, with an emphasis on geriatric mental health strongly preferred.
- Expertise in geriatric mental health disorders and evidence-based therapeutic modalities.
- Experience working with older adults in both individual and family settings.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, highlighting an empathetic and patient-centered approach.
- A demonstrated ability to build meaningful connections with elderly patients and their families.
- Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard computer applications.
- Skillful in working within a multidisciplinary team framework.
Preferred Experience
- Experience conducting assessments and designing treatment plans specifically for geriatric clients.
- Familiarity with community resources and support networks for elderly individuals.
- A network of professional relationships within the local geriatric healthcare community.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this position is between $75,000 and $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:
