Work Environment

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments for elderly patients, considering individual cognitive, physical, and social circumstances.
- Design and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based therapeutic approaches tailored to the geriatric population.
- Provide therapeutic interventions including individual and family therapy to help manage conditions such as anxiety, depression, and other psychiatric disorders.
- Collaborate closely with geriatric psychiatrists and other multidisciplinary team members to deliver holistic care.
- Offer immediate crisis intervention and support during mental health emergencies, ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about mental health conditions, treatment options, and available resources in the community.
- Maintain detailed, confidential, and compliant patient records utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Participate actively in team meetings, case consultations, and ongoing professional development activities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
- Stay current with advancements in geriatric psychiatry and incorporate latest evidence-based practices in your therapeutic approach.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Your primary focus will be on the geriatric population, a group that often faces unique and multifaceted challenges related to their mental health. You will work closely with older adults dealing with various conditions such as cognitive decline, depression stemming from chronic illness, and the stress of life transitions. Building rapport and trust with patients and their families is essential to facilitate effective treatment and improve health outcomes.
Qualifications
- A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
- Current licensure as an LICSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of Massachusetts is required.
- A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience preferred, with a strong understanding of geriatric mental health disorders.
- Ability to utilize various evidence-based treatment modalities and therapeutic interventions effectively.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating a patient-centered, empathetic approach to care.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems and familiarity with technology used in telehealth practices.
- A collaborative mindset to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Preferred Experience
Experience in providing therapy to older adults, particularly within a telehealth framework, is highly desirable. Familiarity with community resources available for the elderly and knowledge of geriatric psychiatric conditions will be advantageous in delivering effective treatment.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this position is competitive, ranging from USD 75,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
