Work Environment
This position offers the flexibility of a remote work environment, allowing mental health professionals to operate from the comfort of their homes. Our telehealth facility is equipped with advanced technology that supports virtual consultations, ensuring seamless communication and high-quality care delivery. The work schedule spans Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts required based on patient needs, providing a balanced work-life experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth mental health assessments tailored to the specific needs of older adults, taking into account their cognitive, physical, and emotional health.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and supportive counseling.
- Provide individual and family therapy sessions, adapting therapeutic approaches to address geriatric psychiatric conditions such as depression and anxiety.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including geriatric psychiatrists, to deliver integrated care that encompasses the medical, psychological, and social aspects of patient health.
- Respond to mental health crises and provide immediate support, implementing crisis intervention strategies to stabilize and guide elderly patients through emergencies.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health disorders, therapeutic options, and community resources that support continued care.
- Maintain meticulous and confidential records in accordance with legal and ethical standards, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems to document patient progress.
- Engage in team meetings and case consultations, contributing insights and receiving peer feedback to enhance treatment efficacy.
- Stay abreast of current research and best practices in geriatric psychiatry to ensure the delivery of cutting-edge care.
Patient Population / Client Focus
This role primarily targets elderly patients grappling with mental health challenges, including but not limited to depression, anxiety disorders, cognitive impairments related to dementia, and adjustment difficulties due to life transitions. As a Mental Health Therapist, you will play a crucial role in improving their quality of life, providing support that empowers them to navigate their mental health journeys.
Qualifications
- A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
- Current and valid licensure as an LICSW, LMHC, or LMFT in Massachusetts.
- A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in mental health therapy, preferably working with geriatric populations.
- Strong understanding of geriatric mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment modalities suited for elderly patients.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, fostering a patient-centered and empathetic therapeutic approach.
- A proven ability to establish rapport and build trust with elderly clients and their families.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant technology for effective patient management.
- Ability to function collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to a holistic care model.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in a telehealth setting is a plus, helping to ensure a smooth transition into our remote work environment.
- Experience in developing community resources and referrals for elderly clients to facilitate comprehensive care.
Compensation and Benefits
The compensation package for this position ranges from USD 75,000 to 100,000 annually, reflecting the importance of this role within our organization.
