Medway Therapy Clinic is seeking a passionate and dedicated Licensed Mental Health Therapist with a focus on geriatric mental health. Work Environment
This remote outpatient position allows you the flexibility of working from home while contributing to a supportive team environment. While you will primarily conduct therapy sessions online, you will also have regular access to professional development resources and team meetings to enhance your collaboration with peers. Our work hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts to accommodate patient needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to evaluate the unique challenges faced by older adults, ensuring that each assessment is tailored to individual patient circumstances.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans by accounting for cognitive changes, physical health challenges, and social environments.
- Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including both individual and family therapy, specifically targeting geriatric psychiatric conditions.
- Collaborate with geriatric psychiatrists and multidisciplinary professionals to ensure integrated care, actively participating in case consultations and team meetings.
- Deliver crisis intervention services during mental health emergencies, ensuring that elderly patients receive immediate and effective support.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and the resources available in the community to assist them.
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation that complies with legal and ethical standards, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems effectively.
- Stay informed about advancements and best practices in geriatric psychiatry, contributing to discussions on clinical strategies during team meetings.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Your primary focus will be the geriatric population, addressing a range of mental health concerns that disproportionately affect elderly individuals. At Medway Therapy Clinic, we understand the complexities of aging and aim to improve our patients' mental well-being through targeted interventions and support systems. You will work closely with clients to build trust and establish rapport, ensuring they feel comfortable discussing their mental health challenges.
Qualifications
- Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
- Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Arizona.
- Strong understanding of geriatric mental health disorders and a proven record of delivering evidence-based treatment modalities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with older adults and their families, demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant computer applications.
- A collaborative mindset, capable of working seamlessly with a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Experience
- A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience is preferred, particularly within a geriatric setting.
- Demonstrated experience in providing both individual and family therapy to elderly clients, utilizing age-appropriate interventions.
- A solid grasp of evidence-based treatment approaches that have been shown to be effective with the geriatric population.
Compensation and Benefits
