Work Environment
This position is based onsite at the Early Interventional Center, where you'll collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and other therapists. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of residents to identify their physical, cognitive, and emotional needs and create individualized therapy plans that cater to those needs.
- Implement hands-on therapeutic techniques that enhance residents' skills in mobility, daily living activities, and overall functionality.
- Guide residents through structured exercise programs, incorporating strength-training, coordination activities, and adaptive strategies that foster independence.
- Regularly monitor and document residents' progress, adjusting therapy goals and methods as necessary to align with their evolving needs and aspirations.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to care and contribute insights that improve resident outcomes.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior staff and volunteers on effective occupational therapy practices and resident engagement techniques.
Patient Population / Client Focus
As an Occupational Therapist at The Riley Healthcare Center, you will primarily work with elderly residents who may have a variety of conditions such as stroke, arthritis, dementia, and other age-related challenges. Your work will be centered on enhancing their quality of life by helping them regain their confidence and autonomy in everyday tasks. Understanding the unique barriers faced by senior citizens will be crucial in delivering effective therapy and support.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- A valid Oregon Occupational Therapist license.
- A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in occupational therapy, preferably within an assisted living or rehabilitation setting.
- Proficient in the use of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems to efficiently document and track patient care.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working with geriatric populations, particularly in assisted living or rehabilitation centers.
- Familiarity with therapeutic modalities and adaptive equipment to support resident therapy.
- Strong communication skills and team-oriented mindset, facilitating effective interactions with residents, family members, and colleagues.
Compensation and Benefits
The Riley Healthcare Center offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $90,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience. In addition to a robust salary, employees are provided with:
