Willow Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team on a full-time basis. This remote role is perfect for a licensed professional who is passionate about providing mental health support to elderly patients. Work Environment
This position is fully remote, allowing for flexibility and work-life balance while supporting our elderly patients. The role includes a standard schedule from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts as needed based on patient requirements. Our telehealth setting leverages cutting-edge technology to facilitate virtual therapy sessions, enabling you to provide effective care in a secure and comfortable environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments tailored to the unique needs of older adults, ensuring that each patient's physical, emotional, and social contexts are considered.
- Design and execute personalized treatment plans that address cognitive changes and various geriatric psychiatric conditions, utilizing evidence-based practice models.
- Deliver individual and family therapy sessions aimed at alleviating the distress caused by psychiatric disorders prevalent within the geriatric population.
- Collaborate closely with our team of geriatric psychiatrists and healthcare professionals to provide integrated care, ensuring that all aspects of a patient's well-being are addressed.
- Provide crisis intervention during mental health emergencies, offering immediate support and appropriate referrals when necessary.
- Educate patients and their families about treatment options and connect them with community resources to further support their mental health journey.
- Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation that meets all legal and ethical standards, utilizing our electronic health record (EHR) system for streamlined operational efficiency.
- Actively engage in team meetings and case consultations to enhance therapeutic strategies and outcomes.
- Stay updated with the latest research and best practices in geriatric psychiatry to continually refine your clinical skills and knowledge.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Your primary focus will be on elderly patients facing a variety of mental health challenges. This includes working with individuals experiencing cognitive decline, emotional distress related to life transitions, and family dynamics affected by aging. Your empathetic approach will be critical in building trust, allowing patients and their families to engage openly in their mental health care.
Qualifications
- A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
- Current and valid licensure in the state of Arizona as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT.
- Strong understanding of geriatric mental health disorders and the ability to implement effective evidence-based treatments.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and a demonstrated patient-centered approach in all interactions.
- Proficiency in using electronic health records to manage patient information efficiently and maintain accurate documentation.
Preferred Experience
- A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience working with older adults, particularly in a mental health capacity.
- Experience in delivering family therapy specifically within the geriatric context.
- Familiarity with telehealth platforms and remote therapy methodologies.
Compensation and Benefits
