Work Environment
This role operates in a fully remote work setting, utilizing telehealth platforms to deliver therapy sessions. You will have the opportunity to leverage advanced technology in mental health care while maintaining a supportive environment where patients can feel comfortable and secure. Our clinic offers a flexible work schedule, primarily from Monday to Friday between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts based on patient needs. The use of electronic health record (EHR) systems is integral to your role, ensuring accurate documentation and efficient communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments to understand the unique needs, challenges, and strengths of elderly patients, creating tailored care plans.
- Design and implement individualized treatment strategies that consider cognitive and physical changes as well as social determinants of health.
- Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including but not limited to individual and family therapy, aimed at alleviating geriatric psychiatric conditions.
- Collaborate with a team of geriatric psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated care that maximizes patient outcomes.
- Provide crisis intervention services and support during mental health emergencies, demonstrating a calm and effective response.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health issues, treatment options, and community resources to empower them in their care journey.
- Maintain meticulous and secure documentation that complies with all legal and ethical standards in mental health practice.
- Engage in team meetings, case consultations, and ongoing professional development to enhance personal and clinic-wide therapeutic practices.
- Stay abreast of current research, best practices, and developments in geriatric psychiatry to maintain a high standard of care.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Your primary focus will be the elderly population, addressing the unique psychological needs that arise in this demographic. The patients you serve will include individuals experiencing a range of mental health issues, from common conditions such as depression and anxiety to more complex cases involving dementia and adjustment disorders due to life changes. Developing a strong rapport with elderly patients and their families is essential, as trust and understanding form the foundation of effective therapy.
Qualifications
- A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
- Possession of a current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Oregon.
- A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in providing mental health therapy, particularly within the geriatric population.
- Demonstrated expertise in understanding geriatric mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment modalities.
- Proficient in conducting individual and family therapy sessions tailored to the needs of older adults.
- Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, exhibiting a compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
- Competent in using electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring the effective management of patient information.
- A collaborative mindset, essential for working within a multidisciplinary team.

Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary package between USD 75,000 and 100,000 annually.
