Work Environment
This position operates in a remote setting, allowing for flexibility while maintaining close collaboration with our multi-disciplinary team. The clinic's outpatient office model ensures that both in-person and virtual consultations are seamlessly integrated. Typical working hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts to accommodate patient needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments to evaluate the psychological, physical, and social factors affecting elderly patients.
- Formulate and execute individualized treatment plans that consider cognitive changes, life transitions, and overall health status.
- Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including individual counseling and family therapy sessions tailored for older adults.
- Collaborate with geriatric psychiatrists and other health professionals to ensure a comprehensive and holistic approach to patient care.
- Provide crisis intervention and support for elderly patients facing mental health emergencies, demonstrating empathy and quick decision-making.
- Educate patients and their families about various mental health conditions, treatment avenues, and beneficial community resources.
- Maintain meticulous, confidential documentation in alignment with legal regulations and ethical standards.
- Engage actively in team meetings and participate in continued education initiatives aimed at professional development and improved patient outcomes.
- Stay abreast of current research and innovations in geriatric psychiatry to refine therapeutic practices continuously.
Patient Population / Client Focus
You will primarily work with elderly individuals facing complex mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety, and dementia-related disorders. Understanding the specific needs and nuances of this demographic is critical, as your approach will directly influence their therapeutic experience and life satisfaction. Your role is pivotal in creating a safe space where older adults feel understood, cared for, and supported in their mental health journey.
Qualifications
- A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited educational institution.
- Valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Texas.
- A minimum of two years of post-licensure clinical experience with an emphasis on geriatric mental health preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of geriatric mental health disorders and proven experience implementing evidence-based treatment strategies.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, fostering strong patient relationships based on trust and empathy.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and related technologies to maintain accurate patient records.
- A collaborative mindset, with a strong ability to function as part of a multidisciplinary team focused on patient-centered care.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working directly with older adults providing therapy in both individual and family settings.
- Familiarity with community resources available for elderly patients and their families to enhance care provisions.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary for this position ranges from USD 75,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
