Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) position in a long-term care (LTC) setting, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and an IL RN license in hand.
Details
- Skilled nursing and rehabilitation units within a long-term care (LTC) facility, functioning similarly to a Med/Surg environment
- Patient population includes dementia and post-surgical residents requiring IV medications and wound care
- Patient load of up to 20 residents with an average daily census of 72
- Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
- Every other weekend required upon request of the facility
- No on-call requirements
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required; 3 years of LTC, SNF, Assisted Living, or Med/Surg experience preferred, with recent experience required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and IV Certification (must be obtained prior to start)
- Strong Med/Surg and acute care background is helpful but not required
- Dementia care training or experience highly recommended
- Demonstrated customer service skills are essential
- Experience with lifting and transfer equipment preferred
- Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include primary care delivery, IV medication administration, and wound care for dementia and post-surgical residents
- Works closely with CNAs and HCAs as part of the care team
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Scrub color requirement: any shade of blue
- Free parking available on-site
- RTO must be submitted at time of consideration and will not be approved after an offer is extended; no more than 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract, and no RTO during the first week of orientation
- Cannot take every holiday off
- Call-outs must be communicated with more than 24 hours of advance notice
- Travelers may remain at this facility for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required
- Former permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
